Ford Fiesta
Ford’s Fiesta supermini was Britain’s best selling car in 2009 and 2010. Last year 103,013 were registered.
Vauxhall Astra
The mid-size hatchback from Vauxhall proved a popular choice in 2010: 80,646 found new homes.
Ford Focus
77,804 examples of the Ford Focus were sold in 2010, contributing towards Ford’s classification as the best selling manufacturer of the year. A new version of the popular family hatch will provide a sales boost this year.
Vauxhall Corsa
Britain’s two best selling manufacturers, Vauxhall and Ford, locked out the top four positions in the new car sales chart. The Corsa supermini racked up 77,398 sales.
Volkswagen Golf
The best selling car that wasn’t a Ford or Vauxhall was VW’s Golf, with 58,116 of the family hatchback registered.
Volkswagen Polo
With 45,517 sold the VW Polo was the sixth most popular car of 2010.
Peugeot 207
Not far behind the Polo is Peugeot’s 207 supermini; 42,185 were sold.
BMW 3-series
The 3-series continues to be BMW’s best selling car, with 42,020 sold in 2010
MINI
41,883 MINIs were registered in 2010, giving it a place in the top 10 best selling cars of the year.
Nissan Qashqai
Rounding out the list is Nissan’s Qashqai crossover, 39,048 of which were sold last year.
